Design Story

The composition is a pinwheel. Each ghost occupies a quadrant, sheets trailing into smoke-grey cloudbanks that soften every edge and keep the eye rotating rather than stopping. Faces are reduced to two dark ovals — restraint doing the work of expression. The moon anchors the middle, ringed by thin gold radial lines and a compass web that reads as celestial cartography. Eight-pointed stars, small crescents and a beaded gold band close the outer rim, framing the darkness rather than competing with it. Warm ivory against near-black gives the piece its contrast; the gold is used sparingly, as punctuation.

Room & Styling

As a floor composition, the round silhouette matches the artwork's own circular logic — no cropping, no fighting the geometry. The central medallion stays legible from standing height, while the border treatment defines a clean edge against wood flooring. Placed openly, it becomes the room's visual anchor; partly under seating, the outer ghosts and border still carry the design.
