Design Story

The composition is built like plate armor. Faceted panels break the vertical surface into segments, each edged with a thin garnet pinstripe that traces the shape instead of shouting over it. Dead center sits the block letter crest with the gamecock inside it, rendered in deep red with silver linework, held in a raised panel that reads as the focal anchor. Below it, small caps lettering keeps the hierarchy calm, and a palmetto medallion with 1801 closes the lower band. The three claw marks near the base are the one bit of controlled aggression — a small tear of red against all that black. Tone-on-tone texture fills the negative space so the surface never looks flat.
