Design Story

The composition is a crest: an arched banner reading UNIVERSITY OF KANSAS, a plaque with KANSAS JAYHAWKS, and beneath it the Jayhawk in crimson, cream and blue, framed by laurel and a gold-toned EST. 1865 bar. Tonal contrast does the work here — deep oxblood reds against warm cream and antique gold, with a leather-look grain rendered into the artwork for depth. A cream panel breaks the lower third on a diagonal, resetting the palette and carrying a LIMITED EDITION plaque as a closing note.

Use & Experience

On a tall tumbler silhouette, that vertical crest reads perfectly: heraldry stacked top to bottom, focal panel sitting at eye level, and the pale base acting as negative space so the emblem never crowds the form.
