Design Story

The focal panel is a deep navy medallion framed by silver-toned scrollwork and feathered relief, with the Jayhawk mascot centred in crimson, blue and yellow. Beneath it, a stacked banner hierarchy — UNIVERSITY OF KANSAS in navy, KANSAS JAYHAWKS in crimson, EST. 1865 in a smaller plaque — establishes a clean vertical reading order. A basketball emblem anchors the lower third, keeping the eye moving downward rather than drifting. The restrained palette lets the ornamental silver detailing act as negative space, so the mascot never competes with the frame.

Use & Experience

On a vertical tumbler silhouette, the composition wraps as a single continuous facade: crest at eye level, lettering at mid-height, ornament tapering toward the base. The handle side stays deliberately quiet with a slim pinstripe accent, so the front panel remains the sole visual anchor.
