Design Story

The focal panel is a circular medallion: a calm, forward-facing tiger portrait above serif lettering reading LSU, with TIGERS set beneath it and a ribbon banner carrying PURPLE & GOLD. Scrollwork, fleur-de-lis motifs and small violet gem accents frame the medallion, while gilded striping breaks across a deep purple ground and wraps the body so the pattern continues past the sightline. Tonal contrast does the heavy lifting — warm gold against saturated purple — and the crest sits high enough to remain the visual anchor from any angle. A second, smaller line of engraved-style lettering near the tapered base keeps the vertical hierarchy reading top to bottom.
